MIHA HROBAT

Skier, Skier, Skier and then Sportman

About me

As a kid I was into every sport imaginable; from hockey to tennis and even some golf. This type of athletic freedom was vital for my development of coordination, however I knew that in order to be successful in a sport, I’d have to give everything I had to it, and so from the age of ? I decided to stop everything else and focus purely on my true love; alpine skiing.

I fell in love with alpine skiing as a young boy, making my first turns in Planica where my family would spend long days together. Back then skiing was all about having fun, however little did I know that the happy times that I had on the hills of Planica would start my lifelong obsession with the adrenaline filled sport that is alpine skiing: A sport that has not only enabled me to travel the world, compete in places I never dreamt I would visit, and which has also allowed me to represent my country on the greatest of stages at the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics.

I was born in Kranj (Slovenia), but the demands of my sport make it difficult for me to call it home, given that I am training and competing around the globe throughout the year. I spend over 300 days a year overseas and whilst I never regret the decisions I’ve made, I do miss spending time with my loving family, who have always been supportive of me throughout my career. These however, are just some of the sacrifices I had to make in order to become a champion.

Outside of skiing, I’m a very proud member of the Sports Unit of the Slovenian Armed Forces, I also enjoy chilling in warm weather and sunbathing on sunny beaches for a change but above all I value the time I get to spend with my closest ones.

My life is snow and alpine skiing, my sport and my passion. Join me on this adventure and keep up with me via this website and by keeping an eye on my social media profiles!
